4 held for gang-raping Dalit woman in Uttar Pradesh (Republic World)

The accused reportedly forcibly abducted the woman using a car and took her to an abandoned house before gangraping her. All four men have been arrested.

BARBANKI: On Tuesday, police said that four men have been arrested for allegedly gangraping a Dalit woman in the Deva area of Barbanki distrcit in Uttar Pradesh. According to the statement of the victim quoted in a PT/report, the victim was on the way to her parent’s house following a fight with her husband when the incident took place. Four men, Mughal Azam alias Riyaz, Ashraf alias Bhure, Shabbu and Islamuddin, approached her, offering a ride. Subsequently, the victim allegedly refused this offer and was forcefully pushed into the back seat of the car being used by the four men before being gagged.
