Prayagraj: Over 10,000 groups (tolis) have been formed in the Prayag region by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to reach out to every Hindu family in around 3,084 villages in Prayagraj district between January 1 and 15 to distribute ‘akshat’ (unbroken rice used in puja), ‘patrak’ (invitation) and photo of Lord Ram temple.
The RSS has set a target to cover 6.70 lakh villages across the country. While the groups of five members each will visit villages, the groups which will be deputed to cover urban areas will consist of 20 to 40 members each. The work related to the formation of groups is going on at war-footing to ensure that all Hindu families are covered in rural and urban areas.
Talking to TOI, Dr Murarji Tripathi, prant prachar pramukh (Kashi Prant), said, “We will be connecting every Hindu family during a door-to-door campaign from January 1 to January 15 mainly to spread Ram-dhun across the country.”
He added, “As the ‘pran prathistha’ ceremony is going to be held on January 22 RSS volunteers have been assigned different roles and responsibilities to connect with Hindu families of the country. RSS volunteers will organise special puja at temples to mark the historic occasion.”
A senior RSS functionary claimed that work of constituting committees was underway at khand , mandal, ward and block level. In all, 55,000 ‘tolis’, comprising five lakh men, would be formed in all 17 districts of Kashi Prant.
