The city of Shivamogga in Karnataka experienced tension on Sunday due to an incident of stone pelting that occurred during the Eid Milad procession.

In the wake of the stone-pelting incident, officials have enacted restrictive commands in certain areas of the city pursuant to Section 144 of the IPC.

An incident involving stone pelting took place near Shantinagar in the Ragigudda area of the city. The Rapid Action Force (RAF) quickly arrived on the scene and managed to disperse the crowd. The police had to do a lathi charge to control the situation. The police said they successfully rescued seven individuals trapped amidst the clashes between the stone throwers and the security officers. The dispute began when the Muslim community members questioned the authorities for removing the offensive text on a cutout of Tippu Sultan.
