By India Today Web Desk: A Muslim man was killed after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of villagers in Dhawaiya village falling in the jurisdiction of Mahuatand police station in Jharkhand on Thursday.
Police said that locals were not happy with the man as he was in a relationship with a girl from a different community.
The victim was provided medical treatment but he succumbed to his injuries.
Superintendent of police, Bokaro, said they have registered a case under relevant sections and 11 people have been arrested. Further investigation is underway.
The SP added that tensions prevailed in Dhawaiya village following the death of the Muslim man but the situation is under control now.
