Uttar Pradesh government has said that it will conduct a survey of unrecognized Madrasahs across the state. In this regard, a letter has been written to all District Magistrates. The survey will be based on the complaints received by the Child Protection Commission. It will collect the number of madrasas, the facilities available there and the details of the students. Such reports have been received in the past, which is a big challenge for unapproved madrasas as many madrasas are not in the process of regulation.
The recommendations of the UP Madrasa Board have received the green flag from the government, according to media reports.
According to Jagmohan Singh, registrar of the UP Madrasa Education Council, the government has issued an order that teachers and non-teaching staff of state-aided madrasas can now be transferred by mutual consent. The application for this has to be forwarded to the District Minority Welfare Officer within two months to the Registrar Madrasa Board with his recommendation.
The registrar will conduct an examination in a month and decide on it. Apart from this, if there is any disagreement in the management committee, the orders for the appointment of the dependent of the deceased may be issued by the District Minority Welfare Officer and the Principal. The committee will not be stopped in case of conflict.
There is also good news for teachers and other women employees working in aided madrasas. Now, like other departments, they will also be able to get six months of maternity leave. Apart from this, there will be two years of leave for taking care of children.
