Ahead of the Gujarat elections and the ongoing row over Nupur Sharma’s remarks, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have started helpline numbers for Hindus with problems. The organisations have said they will provide financial aid and legal help to Hindus who are facing problems.
Gujarat VHP General Secretary, Ashok Rawal said, “Anti-social elements and traitors are threatening Hindus nowadays. Recently we have seen how Hindus are being targeted by Muslims. Hindus are being threatened of beheading. Such incidents have also taken place. Hindus are in fear.”
Rawal further said, “I want to tell all Hindus, we are with them. We are starting 24-hour helpline numbers. Any Hindu in problem should call us. First, they should approach local police and, for further help, they should approach us. We will verify whether there is a genuine problem and help them.”
Rawal added, “We will provide all of them with legal and financial help. There is no need to worry. We will help our Hindus in all possible ways.”
