Ahmedabad: A 17-year-old boy belonging to the scheduled caste (SC) community was allegedly attacked by an upper-caste man and his two aides for moving around in the lane where the man lived.
This took place in the Chandlodia area of the city on Sunday.
The boy’s mother, Champa Makwana, 32, a widow, filed an FIR with Sola police against the accused. Her FIR says that she works for a private hospital and lives with her sons Mehul, 17, and Hasmukh, 15, in a rented house in Sant Rohidasnagar.
Champa said she was hosting a lunch for children on the second death anniversary of her husband on Sunday, and told Mehul to buy some food. As Mehul had forgotten his wallet at home, Champa ran behind him to hand it to him. She saw Sanjay Dubey and his two aides assaulting Mehul and rushed to his aid.
