A Delhi court pulled up the city police over its investigation into the 2020 riots case. The court said there was suspicion that the investigating officer of the Delhi Police “manipulated evidence” in the case.
The court’s remark came as it discharged three men who were accused in the 2020 Delhi riots case.
The court said, “There is grave suspicion that the Delhi Police IO (Investigating Officer) manipulated evidence in the case without properly investigating.”
“The Delhi Police filed chargesheet in a pre-determined, mechanical, and erroneous manner, with subsequent actions to only cover up the initial wrong actions” the court said.
