Kochi: Three persons were arrested for thrashing a Dalit youth at Kalady here on Wednesday.
The arrested individuals are Kachappilly Shinto (39), Chengal Thaliyan Bins (40) and Manjalikkudi Praveen (38).
According to the Kalady Police, the incident took place at around 1.30 pm on February 26. The trio allegedly assaulted Unni of the Chengal tribal colony and made casteist remarks. Unni had earlier questioned Shinto for misbehaving with a girl in his colony.
DySP A J Thomas and Inspector K Shiji probed the case.
