Tamluk: CAA, NRC and NPR sit-ins were held for 200 days in Sonamui of Tamluk in East Midnipur district, West Bengal. On Thursday, Welfare Party’s state member Sahjadi Parveen, District General Secretary of Purba Medinipur Sheikh Amenul Islam, one of the women’s district committee members Sainaz Begum, Aktari Bibi and Ajmira Bibi and other leaders were present on the stage. Like other days, the preamble of the constitution is also read on this day.
The movement was stopped due to Covid19. Then two years later, continuous sit-in against CAA, NRC started in West Bengal. Welfare Party of India started this dharna in Uttar Sonamui area of Tamluk in East Midnapore district. The women of East Medinipur district branch of the party are constantly on dharna.
